Siri, Cortana, and Google's brand-new Assistant are considered the best in the business for digital assistants. For the comparison below, we used an iPhone SE running the iOS 10.2 beta, and each article in the coming days will feature a different topic. After this 'series' of articles end, we will make a ranking of the best & worst assistants. Without further ado, please enjoy this comparison of weather conditions using Siri, Google Assistant in the Allo app, and Cortana in her respective app. Siri Siri handled the question with ease. She read aloud the temperature, and provided a card with weather conditions, the highest expected temperature, the lowest expected temperature, & a forecast for the rest of the day. Google Assistant Google Assistant recommended proper attire for the day, and provided a card with the temperature front and center. While it did not provide the day's forecast, the card acted as a clickable link to The Weather Channel's website. The card also featured the high, low, and weather conditions. Cortana Cortana searched Bing for the result and did not read aloud the temperature. While the card was detailed, it had not been updated in almost thirty minutes (Siri's temperature was the most up to date). However, Bing's card for weather showed the chance of rain, wind speed, & the weather for the week, which was helpful. Conclusion Winner: Siri Siri's information was the most accurate, and she read aloud a summary of the weather. Cortana was a close runner-up and would have won if the conditions were up-to-date. Google Assistant provided accurate weather as well, but the information was not detailed. Roan Thibault is the editor-in-chief of Mirror Journal.
